Webのアクセシビリティの観点からの配色
こんにちは、名古屋の宿澤です。ITリーダ研究会とその後の懇親会両方とても楽しかったです。
そのITリーダ研究会でも話題になっていましたが、Webの配色（Webだけに限ったものではありませんが･･･）はとても大切だと思います。私のサイトはどちらかというとSEOに力を入れていて、配色や、訪問者への配慮が足りていません。サイトを全面刷新ししたいとおもって早6ヶ月。まだ手がついていません。
ITリーダ研究会で加藤先生がWebの配色について話していらっしゃいましたが、自分の中では、とても反省しながら、話を聴いておりました。
なぜ、Webの配色や、使い勝手が大切かいいますと、Webのアクセシビリティが１つ関係していると思います。Webのアクセシビリティとは、高齢者や障害者などを含む、できるかぎり多くの人々がWebサイトにアクセスし、自分が求める情報やサービスを得ることができるかどうかを示します。
その中でも色というものは、様々な見え方をする人がいらっしゃいます。「色盲」「色覚異常」と呼ばれる事もありました。しかし、別に「異常」ではないので、最近ではそのような呼び方はしない方向になっており、いろいろな見え方もその人の個性ということで、「色覚個性」とか言うようです。
話がズレてしまいましたが、色の大切さのひとつの理由はここにあります。自分の使っている配色とは、全く別の見え方をしている人が世の中にはいらっしゃるということです。配色が「別の見え方」ならよいのですが、場合によっては「見えない」場合もあります。
カラーコントラストチェッカーというサイトが有り、配色の組合せが、様々な方にどのように見えるかということを体験させてくれます。
自分では、「お、なかなか、よい配色だ」と自信をもっていると、ある方には全くみえない配色だったりします。一度お試しいただくと良いと思います。
