テストについて考えてみました

金曜日担当Ⅱの「やどつま」です。
今日も、投稿が遅くなってしまい、申し訳ございません。

佐藤さんがテストについて語っていたので、
私もちょうどテストに入っていたこともあって、
最近のテスト事情についてちょっと考えてみました。

昔のプログラミング言語はとても単純で、
できることがとても限られていたので、
少ない資源を創意工夫してシステムを構築していました。

言語で、できること、できないことが比較的はっきり
していたため、テスト項目が大量ではありましたが、
テスト自体はシンプルで、テストに対する信頼性も
高かったと思います。

でも、最近は、WindowsやWeb系のプログラミングが急速に
発展・普及してきて、テスト技術が全然おいついて
いないような気がします。

というのも、WindowsプログラミングやWeb系のプログラミングは
ある意味とても複雑で、完璧なテスト項目を挙げるのは、
不可能に近いと思われるからです。

最近のプログラミング言語は、
「なんでもできる」、「本当はやってはいけない
ことも考慮してもらえる」、「やりたい事一つに対して、
方法はたくさんある」、「色々な逃げ道や方法がある」
そして、たちが悪いのが、「できるけれど、推奨してません。」
という一言です。
（これで何度泣いたことか・・・）

また、プログラマー自身、技術の発展に勉強が追いつかず、
気づかないところに、落とし穴をたくさんつくってしまいます。
わたしも、落とし穴にはまりつつ、更なる落とし穴を
作ってるような気がしてなりませんが・・・(^ ^;)

で、結局何が言いたいかと申しますと、
今の世の中、お金を出してシステムを導入するのなら、
受け入れテストに十分な時間を取ることをお勧めします。
（せめて譲れない機能だけでもいいので・・・）

昔ほどには、テストの信頼性を高く保てないため、
システム製作者でも完璧なテストは不可能に近いんだ、
ということを発注元も十分理解してほしいと思います。

（とっても製作者側の意見で申し訳ありません。
しかも、かなり逃げ腰かも・・・）
